Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum with Father Paul of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
Rachel was born in Hughes, Arkansas to Juanita R. Cruz and Pedro M. Cruz on August 14, 1948. She went to school in Dallas and graduated from Crozier Tech. She married Daniel M. Rivas on July 14, 1968 in Dallas. She retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend.
Rachel is preceded in death by her mother Juanita R. Cruz, her father Pedro M.Cruz and sister Francisca Cruz.
Rachel is survived by her loving husband Daniel M. Rivas, her two children Kelli R. Valenzuela, Daniel F. Rivas and daughter-in-law Rose Rivas. Her three sisters Josie Cupples, Adela Roark-Cruz, Mary Cruz. Her two brothers John Cruz and Phillip Cruz. Her grandchildren. John A. Valenzuela, Christian J. Valenzuela, Matthew D. Valenzuela, Daniel J. Rivas, Andrew J. Rivas and her six great-grandchildren Laila C Valenzuela, Joseph A. Valenzuela, Oliveeah J. Valenzuela, Yaretzi R. Valenzuela, Christian J. Valenzuela, Zophia R. Valenzuela and Mattox D. Valenzuela.
Pallbearers will be: John Valenzuela, Christian Valenzuela, Matthew Valenzuela, Daniel Rivas, Andrew Rivas and Joseph Valenzuela.
