Quincie Phenix, the daughter of the late Jonathan Davis, Sr., and Della Johnson-Watson, was born on May 18, 1950, in Grapeland,Texas. As an infant with much love and tender compassion she was adopted by Theria B. and Jesse Tryon. She matriculated through Grapeland public schools, graduating from W. R. Banks in 1968.
She accepted Christ at an early age, and united with Cedar Branch Baptist Church. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas, and united with Faithful Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. N.C. Sargent.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Ted Phenix on December 2, 1975, and to this union three children were born. She was a loyal, devoted wife and mother who worked tirelessly, molding and shaping the lives of her children.
In 1993, Quincie and her family moved to Waco, Texas. While living in Waco, she united with Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Petty.
In 2005, she returned to Dallas and settled in her new home in Red Oak, Texas. During this time, she united with Paradise Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member, serving as a member of the Women’s Ministry, Paradise Total Care, and Garden Coordinator for the Health and Wellness Ministry until her death.
Quincie’s career included employment with Texas Instruments, Kroger and H-E-B. She retired from H-E-B in 2015. After retirement, she enjoyed baking, cooking, candle making, and encouraging and inspiring others.
On June 22, 2022, Quincie and the Lord agreed it was time to move to her Heavenly Home.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Mr. Ted Phenix; two sons, Sebastian, Sr. (Latrice) and Kareem; one daughter, Tymeka; two brothers, Joe Nathan Davis, Jr. (Gwen), and Ed B. Watson (Petrece); two sisters, Carolyn Gladdis (Vernon) and Shirley Walker (Joe); six grandchildren, Sebastian, Jr., Brandon, Kiera, Jeremy, Madesen, and Matthew; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
