Patrick James Mulligan, beloved husband of Tami Webb Mulligan and father to Madison, Caroline, Webb and Crawford, passed away on May 1st, 2019. He was born on March 11, 1964 in Lake Village, Arkansas, to John and Maria Mulligan.
Patrick attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Lake Village, Arkansas. He graduated in 1982 from Washington Day School, a college preparatory school located in Greenville, Mississippi where he excelled in academics, track, and football. He attended Louisiana State University where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and graduated in 1986. Patrick obtained his law degree from the Southern Methodist School of Law in 1989. He began his postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics and earned an LLM in International Business Law in 1990. Patrick married the love of his life, Tami Webb, in Dallas in 1994.
After completing his formal education, Patrick returned to Dallas and founded the Mulligan Law Firm which he built into an extremely successful and respected law firm. He remained engaged with many ventures throughout the last thirty years, serving as General Counsel for Trident Ventures, LLC, an early stage Venture Capital Fund. Patrick was founder and CEO of Rhino Resources, Ltd., an independent oil and gas exploration company focused on Africa.
Patrick was a member of the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, State Bar of Georgia, American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Association. While his professional and business endeavors were numerous and very successful, Patrick's biggest accomplishments and greatest source of pride were his wife and children. When Patrick was fishing or hunting with close friends, he humbly never spoke of his business successes, but rather always talked about Tami, his children, and their fun family times. Patrick will be remembered for his gentle nature, pure heart, and selfless devotion to his family and friends. He was a gracious and true gentleman. While he raised his children to be LSU Tigers, he proudly learned to wear burnt orange and white in support of his Longhorn children. He was an source of wisdom, almost like a walking encyclopedia, where those around him were drawn to him for advice. Ever patient, Patrick put the concerns and needs of others before his own without complaining. Some of his favorite memories were snow skiing on holidays with his family in Beaver Creek, Colorado. His happy place was Lake Athens where he spent many special times with his family and friends. Patrick was full of energy and always planning the next adventure, whether it was a safari in Africa, a duck hunt in Arkansas, fly fishing in Colorado, deep sea fishing in Guatemala, or bass fishing at Ferndale. He spent countless hours teaching and sharing these passions with his children.
Patrick was a faithful member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, a member and past President of Ferndale Fishing Club, a member of Gunstream Hunting and Fishing Club, a member of LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation, and a member of the Brook Hollow Golf Club. Patrick was a generous supporter of many non-profit organizations, including Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas, and the Clayton Dabney Foundation.
