She was preceded in death by her husband H. W. Woodall in January, 1988, and is survived by her two daughters; Barbara Woodall Carroll and her husband Wayne of Goldthwaite, Texas, and Wendy S. Woodall and her husband Allan Henderson of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ms. Pat was born on August 17, 1923 to emigrant parents of Greek and Austrian descent in Las Angeles, California. At an early age she wanted to become a nurse, but her parents sabotaged the idea at every turn. Being the strong person she was, she, with the help of her family doctor was accepted to the St. Paul’s Nursing School in Dallas, Texas. At age 21 , all alone, she boarded a train to Dallas and began school. About half way through her education she was introduced to Mr. H. W. Woodall on a blind date, and the rest is history. They were wed as she graduated and made their home in Dallas. Pat worked the graveyard shift at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Dallas for 30+ years, juggling her professional and home life responsibilities like a pro.
Ms. Pat Woodall was a loving wife, mother, and a dedicated professional. She instilled excellent qualities in her children. She will be missed by those who remember her smiling face and sincere concern for her family, friends and patients she touched.
She was a very strong woman. She helped thousands throughout her life as a nurse, and beyond. She “quit” making coffee for cohabitants at 90!
She was raised Greek Orthodox, but last was a member of the Methodist church. She attended non-denominational services for the last 9 years in assisted living facilities and senior apartments in the Las Vegas area.
