Patricia Rivera

Patricia was born in Talihina, Oklahoma on August 24,1961. She grew up and went to school in Pontotoc and Connerville, Oklahoma.

Patricia married her lifelong soulmate, Willie David Rivera on September 28th; they were married for 40 years.

A devoted Mother and Grandmother, Patricia, lovingly known as Nana, dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of her days were spent with her playful grandchildren, including taking them to the store and buying them toys and snacks. They loved her gravy and biscuits. When she wasn’t at soccer games she would gladly lend a helping hand to her husband in his construction work.

Patricia was an easy going soul. She was a wonderful listener, you could talk to her about anything. Her home was open to family and friends alike. She would welcome you without hesitation. She enjoyed reading, watching black and white movies and putting picture puzzles together. She appreciated the sound of the rain falling and took pleasure dancing in it.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Willie David Rivera; four daughters: Erica Rivera, Dana Rivera (spouse Nolan Curren), Melonie Rivera and Ashley Rivera (spouse Richard Goza); one son: Willie David Rivera II (J.R.); two stepdaughters: Cynthia Nuncio (spouse Johnny Nuncio) and Catherine Navarro; sixteen grandchildren: Alexandra Nuncio-Moreno, Johnny Angel and Joey Nuncio, Sergio and Cipriana Navarro, Wesley Ruiz Jr. and Eric Ruiz, Aliana Castillo, Destiny and Annabella Rivera, Jordan Ruiz, Addison Curren, Katelynn and Lauren Rivera, David Lozano and Michael Millican; two great-grandchildren: Alora Nuncio and Nevaeh Navarro; brother and sisters: James Culberson, Gina Holden and Corey Culberson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Marcus Galvin Rivera, Willie Galvin Rivera Jr, Ismael Martinez and Sylvia Penney; nieces and nephews: Michele Williams, Michaela Shaw, Taletha Lewis, Cameron Lewis and Trevor Lewis; and devoted family members: Marcella Worcester, Darlene Seeley and Glenna Howard.

Patricia Rivera was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Lou Culberson; grandmother, Maggie Melville; great-grandmother, Zora Nelson; brother-in-law, Michael Rivera; and father-in-law, Willie Galvin Rivera.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, and Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00am, all at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Poe of Temple of God Church in Connerville, Oklahoma will be officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
