Pat graduated with honors from Ursuline Academy in Dallas, Texas in 1952, and Webster College in Webster Groves, Missouri, where she excelled and graduated in the top of her class. While at Webster College, Pat participated in many clubs and activities, including yearbook, the student newspaper, and student government. She was also fondly remembered by classmates for her involvement in the International Relations Club. Following graduation, Pat began employment with American Airlines, starting as a Reservations Service Agent in Fort Worth and climbing the management ladder where she received numerous accolades and was recognized for her dedication and contributions. Her career included stints in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Tucson, before returning to Texas, following retirement, to be closer to family. Pat also spent time in Canada and France where her aptitude for the French language, no doubt, served her well.
Pat was a devout Catholic, gifted scholar, avid reader, music enthusiast, world traveler, French linguist, beer drinker, Tex-Mex/margarita aficionado, and lover of kittens and all things feline. She was a woman ahead of her time, with an independent spirit, sharp wit, strong intellect, practical disposition, and calm presence. Most importantly, she was a beloved daughter and sister, “the cool aunt,” and a loyal friend to many.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, John (Dunny) Thomas Donovan II, and her mother, Rose Moran Donovan. She is survived by her younger brother, John (Bubba) Donovan III (wife Marcella); younger sister, Susie Donovan Cupaioli (husband Ian); her nieces: Jill Donovan, Leslie Donovan, and Meg Cupaioli Shull (husband Wayne and daughters, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Hannah); and her nephew, Ian Cupaioli (wife Mary Beth).
Visitation will be at 9am on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, followed by a Catholic Funeral Service at 10am.
