Patricia Ann Bergman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 10, 2017. She was resting peacefully and comfortably at home surrounded by her loving family when she completed her journey through this life and into the next.
Patricia was born on January 14, 1932 in Fort Worth, TX. The youngest of three girls, her family lived in Fort Worth until she was about 5 or 6. At that time, the family moved to Oak Cliff.
It was in second grade at James Bowie Elementary School that she met the love of her life, Frank Jerome Bergman. They would go round and round for several years before she told him they would be married and become husband and wife at the ripe old age of 19 and 20.
In 1951, Patricia and Frank were married in her parents’ home on a Wednesday evening among an intimate gathering of close family and friends. The young couple moved several times while Frank served in the US Air Force and was stationed in various bases across the Southeast United States. After Frank’s four years in the service were completed they moved to College Station, TX where he attended classes and Patricia worked as a secretary in a local doctor’s office.
Once Frank completed his degree at Texas A&M in 1958, the couple moved to Dallas, TX where they welcomed their first daughter on December 12 of that same year. They would have two more daughters over the next 9 years and move their growing family a handful of times until they ended up in East Dallas in 1973.
Pat always knew her most authentic identity was found in her relationship with God through Jesus Christ. She thoroughly enjoyed her life as a wife and mother. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always insured that Christmas was a special event for her family and friends. She was a constant and true friend.
Mom lived a full life in the same home through the remainder of her days on this earth.
Her husband, Frank, precedes her in death, along with her parents, Paul Kimzey Carmichael and Mallie Belle Carmichael; twin sisters, Melba Jane Cochran and Bennie Sue Cooper; nephew, Gary Mac Wilkerson; and great great nephew, Hunter Layne Wilkerson.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kelley Bergman Green, Kimberley Bergman and Kendall Bergman along with her son-in-law, Peter Dudley Green. She also has a legacy of 4 grandchildren and their spouses (KJ Green Toombs and her husband, Jonathan; Frankie Green Sartin and her husband, Kansas; Wylder Bergman Green and his wife, Catarina; and Seth Carmichael Green and his wife, Susanne) and 7 great grandchildren who will carry her with them in spirit and memory.
