Mary J. Ross

Mary Juanita Ross was born on February 10, 1950 in Opelousas, LA to the late Curley Charles Sr. and Cemonia Charles of Opelousas, LA. She graduated from high school in Opelousas, LA. She later attended Grambling State University for a short while. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Curley Charles, Sr. and Cemonia Charles; two sisters, Cecilia Lewis and Mary Satterwhite; four brothers, Edmond, Alton, Joseph and Curley Charles, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories husband, S.T. Ross, Sr.; daughter, Tranesa (Fred Banks), son, Kevin Ross; daughter, Diana Ross; step-son, S.T. Ross, Jr. (Chandra); two sisters, Geneva Bellard of Los Angeles, CA and Marie Bellard of Dallas, TX; one brother, George Charles of Opelousas, LA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Four special family friends, Emily Hodges of Mesquite, TX, Lavern Burns of Dallas, TX, Helen Singleton of Dallas, TX, and Rita Moore of Dallas, TX; nieces, nephews, family and friends. Open Visitation: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., Family Visitation: 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 12 Noon, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Laurel Land Funeral Home-Chapel, 6000 S. R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. Interment to follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
