Mary Beth (Price) Rhodes passed away peacefully on August 3, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born on January 11, 1942 in Kilgore, TX and moved to McKinney during her school years. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1960 where she was a member of the Future Teachers of America Club, Future Homemakers of America Club, and voted “Miss Fashion Plate” of her graduating class. She attended the University of Texas in Austin graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree and earning a teaching certificate in home economics. She taught school for one year in Texas before turning her attention to raising a family. After divorcing and settling in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, she was unable to find a teaching position. She accepted an entry level position at AT&T and quickly worked her way up to a long and successful career in Human Resources as a Labor Relations expert. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed fellowship with her friends and neighbors. Later, she moved back to Texas where she could focus on her new and most beloved job as “Grandma.” Mary was a kind, generous, warm, and thoughtful person. Everyone who knew her loved her and had only kind words to say about her. She loved to help others and was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard O. Price, mother, Mae E. (Jouflas) Price, and brother, Richard (Dick) C. Price. Survivors are her three children; Steven Rhodes (Christie), Wendy Nubel (James), and Emily Pryor (Jason), and seven grandchildren; Matthew Pryor, Jacob Pryor, Renee Nubel, Sabrina Nubel, Helen Rhodes, Sarah Rhodes, and Mary Rhodes. Her final resting place will be at Sparkman Hillcrest Mausoleum in Dallas with her mother and father. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
