As a young woman, she married her husband of 47 years, Mr. Jesse Ray Dawson Sr. on August 8, 1945. Their union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive their mother. Her husband Jesse preceded her in death on November 26, 1992.
During her life Mary cleaned houses, worked as a shipyard welder during World War II, and cleaned offices at night.
Mary Lake left this life on October 2, 2020 and is survived by her children, Janice Marie Dawson, Diane Dawson Wright, Jesse Ray Dawson, Jr, and Michael Wayne Dawson; daughters-in-law, Jackie Dawson, and Jan Dawson Green all of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Sean Wright, Stacey Dawson, Tya Dawson, and Adrian Dawson, great-grandchildren; Kendahl Lake Dawson Cole, Dershard Jesse Warner, Lauren Breshelle Warner, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
