Maria Elena Villarreal was born in San Antonio, February 25, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Esther and Timoteo Hernandez, her son Victor Villarreal and granddaughter Vida Villarreal.
She is survived by her husband Jose Villarreal, children - Jose Miguel, Angelica, Jesse and Robert. Grandmother to Mark, Matthew, Victoria, Lizelle, Analisa, Diego, Ava, Damian and Viviana.
Great grandmother to Mason.
A sister to nine siblings.
Maria retired from UT Southwestern Medical Center. After retiring she enjoyed making memories with her family, grandchildren and friends. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Council of Catholic Women where she devoted her time in prayer and service for her community. She was very humble, courageous and spiritual. Her persistent prayers gave strength to all around her.
She was a mother with a tremendous warm heart and would only see the good in everyone.
Maria courageously fought cancer these past few years and the loss is deeply felt, we are comforted by knowing she is resting in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Maria, you are fiercely loved and deeply missed.
