Margaret Healy Lenihan

Peg was born and raised in Queens, NY. She married Thomas J. Lenihan Jr. in 1950 and, together, on Long Island, raised three children, Eileen L. Rearick (Philip) of Frisco; Thomas J. Lenihan III (Cathy) of Plano and Kerry J. Lenihan of Allen.

Peg & Tom moved to Texas in 1984 to be close to their children and granddaughters, Jennifer Gates (David), Christi Giffin (Grady), Michelle Hurley (Matt) and Erin Empet (JP), and great grandchildren, Tate & Caroline Giffin, Arlie & Adelaide Empet (both deceased) and Molly & Jack Hurley.

Peg was a devoted Catholic, fierce first-generation Irish, tireless shopper, expert bridge player and wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed forever.

For the past 18 months Peg was in assisted living and memory care at Sonoma House in Carrollton. We would like to thank the wonderful staffs at both Sonoma House 2 and Holding Hands Hospice Dallas for their loving care of Peg, particularly in her last months. Thank you!

Peg was pre-deceased by her parents Patrick & Catherine Healy, husband Tom and brother John Healy.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, Dallas, with a Funeral Mass on Wednesday December 13 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Catholic Church of Dallas and burial at Hilltop Cemetery, Carrollton.
