Margaret Denton DeWitt, 98, of Dallas, passed peacefully into Heaven with family members at her side on December 4, 2010. She was born the middle of seven children to Clay and Mentie Denton on September 6, 1912 in Troup, Texas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, H.C. "Chubby" DeWitt. Margaret lived her life in service to
others both as an individual and as a volunteer through numerous ministries at Highland Park United Methodist Church. With beloved and cherished memories, she is survived by her son, Dr. J. Denton DeWitt and wife, Fonda; daughter, Dinah DeWitt Gaspard and husband, Jim; grandchildren Anne-Marie Gartner and husband, Ted; LeeAnn Murray and husband, Clint; Clay Gaspard and wife, Katie; Todd Gaspard and wife, Sedona; Noelle Gaspard, and Julianne Gaspard; and great-grandchildren Kathleen and Jack Gartner, Callie and Sidney Murray, and James and Ana Gaspard; sister, Dorothy Vaughan and husband, Eldon, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to WeCare Ministry at HPUMC or Vitas Hospice. Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 7. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, December 8 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, Tx.
