On the morning of January 12, 2015, at the age of 67, Mark passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mark was born on October 6, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He was the middle child and only son of Lynnos Marjorie and John Clarence Carroll.
Mark served in the Army from October 1966 through July 1968 and was stationed in Vietnam. Upon release from the Army, Mark returned to his home town and soon met Brenda Sanders. Mark and Brenda were married in February 1969 and had two children, Keith born June 29, 1972, and Christie born May 12, 1975.
Mark had a lifelong love of sports especially football. He played football in high school and enjoyed sharing that passion with Keith and Christie. He could always be found on the sidelines coaching and cheering for Keith and Christie whether it was soccer, football, baseball or softball. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and seldom missed watching a game.
Mark retired from General Motors in 2002 with over 30 years of service.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Lynnos and John Carroll, and his sister Robin Carroll Erb. Mark is survived by the mother of his children Brenda Carroll, his children Keith and Christie, his sister Darlene True and four grandkids Caitlin, Riley, Cameron and Curtis along with many extended family members.
Services will be held at Grove Hill Funeral and Memorial Home. The visitation will be Wednesday January 21, 2015 from 6-8 pm. The service will be Thursday January 22, 2015 at 10:00 am.
