Lynn grew up with her two older sisters; Lesa and Lori in San Antonio, Texas where they shared many wonderful memories of neighbors, cookouts and playing in the front yard. Then before she entered the 2nd grade the family moved to Plano, Texas.
Lynn graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1986, then went on to graduated with a BA from the University of North Texas in 1992.
Her occupation in life that she was the most proud of was being a mother, wife and volunteer in the community and her church. Lynn loved participating in vacation bible school each year and cooking meals for Grace Church's Promise House. She was a prior member at West Plano Presbyterian Church in Plano and currently a member of Grace Presbyterian. She was a volunteer for the Liver Transplant department at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas.
She was a kind soul with a generous heart for others in need . Her beauty was not only on the outside but inside as well. She lit up any room she walked into and people naturally gravitated to her. Lynn was most comfortable at home in her backyard pool whether floating away or playing catch with Cash her pet lab mix. She was a cheerleader throughout each of the schools she attended and when she got older she stayed involved with both kids entrance into cheer leading.
She loved to cook and was known for her special dishes that she prepared for each occasion. She was constantly watching her Food Network programs to draw upon any and all recipes that added to her book that she kept.
But most of all she was always wanting that nightly back rub whether from John or one of the kids. We will greatly miss that nightly ritual. Lynn had a favorite saying "LOVE" that she would use instead of saying goodbye. Each time we hear it now it will be hard not to think of her.
She loved being a mother to her two children Preston and Shelby Waters. She married her soul mate and best friend John Cottrell and they had 16 wonderful years together. Together with her children they had many adventures and wonderful family events.
Lynn is survived by her husband, John Cottrell; son Preston Jacob Waters; and daughter Shelby Denee Waters; father Lloyd T Waters and mother Joyce F Waters; sister Lesa Ann Ille, brother-in-law Richard D Ille, sister Lori Diane Corbin and brother-in-law Marc C Corbin. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
