Louise E. Blackburn, age 84, passed away on May 17, 2015 at her home. She was born on June 15, 1930 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Matthew and May Pollock Campbell. They preceded her in death. As an employee of the British Consulate, she worked for the British Tourist Authority for many years.
Mrs. Blackburn loved to travel and throughout her lifetime she visited over 13 countries and 5 continents. In fact, she lived on 3 different continents. Her goal to be a world traveler was definitely realized. Some of her other past times and hobbies were: art, animals, playing with her great- granddaughter Peyton, spending time with friends and gardening. She especially liked going to the Arboretum with her daughter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Ross Blackburn; daughter, Monique Blackburn; and sister, Helen Fitzsimmons. She is survived by her sister and brother, Valerie Cornish and Eric Campbell, both of Belfast, Northern Ireland; granddaughter, Kellie Hardin and husband Wayne of Mesquite, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Hardin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sparkman Crane Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Raibley, Officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to her two favorite charities:
