Kenneth Ray Porter was born to Barbara and Claude Porter on July 29, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Barbara was later re-married to Ray Williams who raised Kenneth. He moved to Texas where he attended Mesquite High School and joined the US Marines at the age of 17. There, he served as a cook and was discharged in 1978 as a Lance Corporal. On April 18, 1980 he married his loving wife, Sheryl. They had three wonderful children: Lacrista, Joshua and Lucretia. Kenneth worked hard to provide for his family and serve others through his entire life. Throughout the years he spent countless hours at Focus Pointe Base Camp doing repairs, building and cooking for thousands of campers. He was a true servant of God and a great mentor to others. He was a selfless, caring, loving, devoted and Godly husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and was a true hero in their eyes. He loved serving others but cherished being with family and his puppies the most. He attended as many family events as he could and always had a Dr. Pepper in his hand. He always made it known that he was very proud of his grandkids Damean, Zachoria, Casey, Jacy, Caleb, and Grace. Kenneth fought through many trials and tribulations with his health. He passed away at 1:30 am on Friday March 28, 2025 surrounded by so many family members. He will be dearly missed by all of us but we all know that he was ready to see his wife, Sheryl, and she was waiting at those pearly gates to greet him. He leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Lacrista Vaughn (Johnny), Lucretia Sonntag (TJ), a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua (Melissa), six grandchildren, Damean and and Zachoria Winders, Casey and Jacy Vaughn, Caleb and Grace Porter; three sisters Kathy Folmer (Danny), Claudia Williams (David), Shirley Harrison, and a brother Larry Porter (Tawni).
