Joyce C. Williams

Joyce was born September 24th, 1928, in New Orleans, LA. She was our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, friend and she was the anchor that held us all together. Joyce was raised in a loving Sicilian family that had branches tracing back to the island of Ustica and the beautiful wine country of Vallelunga in Sicily. Her ancestors were the backbone of who she would become. Her mother, Sadie, and her father, Casino, taught her that family, religion and hard work were the most important parts of life. Joyce had one sister, Lorita. They grew up during the Great Depression and were young women during World War II. They both loved and enjoyed their beloved home in New Orleans!

Joyce met Bill Williams in college and they married in 1949. They had 4 daughters, Pattie Elrod, Deborah Nesbit, Wendy Hilliard and Cindy Aldaba. Joyce and Bill lived in New Orleans in the early 60’s, until Bill’s job at Olivetti took him to Cleveland, Houston and, finally, Dallas where they lived their remaining days. Joyce and Bill had a wonderful life together filled with their 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce was a role model for her daughters and granddaughters. She was involved with their joys and hardships and was always there to give a helping hand and give her love and support! Joyce never had a bad word to say about anybody and always looked for the best in people. She had a beautiful heart and gave so much love to us all. Joyce was loved back so intensively by her close family and friends.

Her sweet loving smile and laugh will be missed, but knowing that she had a long and beautiful life comforts us all. She will stay with us forever in our hearts and her spirit will continue to be our guiding light in the future.

Prayer Vigil Service will be held on Friday January 28th, at 4:00 pm with Visitation until 6 pm at Sparkman /Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Hwy., Dallas, Texas, 75225.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 29th, at 2:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas, 75225. Entombment will follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Mausoleum and Memorial Park. A reception will follow the entombment inside Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home.
