Joyce Robinson, age 81, was born October 5, 1930 in New York City. Daughter of Hattie and Irving Jacobs, passed away comfortably June 16, 2012 from Lewy Body Dementia. Joyce is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold (Sonny), son Jeffrey and wife Jill, granddaughters, Lindsey Robinson Freed & husband Eric and her “clone” Sarah Robinson. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Joyce attended Far Rockaway High School and Queens College. In 1966 Joyce and family moved to Dallas so Sonny could further expand his wholesale children’s clothing business. Her love of outdoors flourished in the Texas sun as she enjoyed gardening, floral design and painting flowers on her canvas frames. When she was not busy with her hobbies, Joyce loved to cook and was the inspiration for Jeff in his culinary and hospitality career. She and Sonny enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends and family, and driving her granddaughters in “Betsy” her beloved Mercedes. When her daughter-in-law Jill traveled during her successful career as a retail buyer, “Nan” would put her flourishing textile business on hold and would be ready to wear the hat as “Nanny” in command until Jill returned. Her spirit will live on with her family, she will be missed…. Please join the Robinson family for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Dallas, TX. The family would like to thank Kay Watson & the staff at Silverado Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
