Dallas on October 6, 1947 to J. G. Farmer and Hester Pearle Hill Farmer, John was his parent’s
pride and joy. A true Lakewood boy through and through, John, an outstanding athlete at
Woodrow Wilson, lettered in each sport and earned a football scholarship to SMU playing for
Coach Hayden Fry. After completing his MBA, John enjoyed and excelled in a career of
banking and finance, most notably with Mercantile Bank and Stratford Capital Partners.
An avid and talented golfer, John enjoyed collecting guitars and cheering on the Dallas
Mavericks. John is survived by his brother, J. Charles “Chuck” Farmer (Dana), daughters
Kimberley Croft (Matt), Rebecca Waldon, (Matt), grandson Silas Croft and two nieces.
Private graveside services for the family were held on October 6th. The family thanks you for
