John was born in Bogalusa, LA on May 29, 1930 and grew up in Houston, TX. John graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston. He then earned a Chemical Engineering degree from Rice University and an Executive MBA from Harvard. He met his loving wife, Mary Miles Daughters, while working for Celanese Chemical Company in Bishop, TX. They married in Kingsville, TX in December 1957. Together they had four children: John Alphonse III, Suzanne, Annette, and Stephen.
The family will be hosting a visitation at Calvary Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Dallas. A reception will immediately follow.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He and Mary Miles were devoted members of St. Rita's Catholic Church for over 40 years. His post-retirement work included advocating for the mentally ill by serving on the Board of Directors at PLAN in Dallas, serving on the Board of Trinity Ministry for the Poor, and providing pro-bono financial planning for the newly widowed and divorced.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Miles, his parents - John Alphonse (Bob) and Ophelia, his sister Kinta and brother Tommy.
He is survived by his son John Bousquet III and wife Melissa of Waxahachie, TX; daughter Suzanne Gore and husband Rex of Delaware, OH; daughter Annette Bousquet of Delaware, OH; son Stephen Bousquet of Dallas, TX; sister Marie (Teal) Anderson of Sisterdale, TX; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Quillen, Amy Hartman, Stephanie Arar, Allison Foley, John Alphonse Bousquet IV, Mark Gore, Rebecca Burnett, James Bousquet, Drew Bousquet, and Amelie Bousquet; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Ella, Marian, Adrienne, Connor, Leo, Jonah, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Mazen - all of whom will dearly miss their Bon-Pa.
