Joan L. Whitesell

Passed away June 10, 2010 at her home in Dallas. She was born to Oscar T. and Joan P. Lawler on November 5, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from the Marlborough School of Los Angeles in 1964 and the University of Southern California in 1968 where she was member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She made her debut in the 1967 presentation of the Las Madrinas Society of Los Angeles and was a member of the Junior League of Los Angeles and also the Junior League of Pasadena.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her late husband J. Ray Sutton. She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Whitesell, Jr., her son Patrick H Sutton and wife Holly, her son Charles L. Sutton (“Chase”) and his wife Carolyn, her step-daughter Katherine Callaway Whitesell, her step-son Richard S. Whitesell III, her brother Charles F. Lawler of Chico, CA, her nieces Ashley W. McLin of Walnut Creek, CA, and Lisa D. Jackson of Santa Monica, CA., and by two grand-daughters and two grand-sons.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Incarnatioin, 3966 McKinney Avenue in Dallas on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 3:00 pm.
