Jo An Rosen

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Speech and Drama, and a Masters in Reading from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her teaching career began in Glendale, California. After moving to Plano, Texas to be close to family, she spent the remainder of her career with Dallas ISD.

After retiring, she was very involved with numerous charities, giving of her time and talents to help others. The Allen County Senior Center, Texas Garden Club, North Dallas Forum Board, and the Plano Garden Club are a few of many organizations benefiting from her generosity.

Jo An is preceded in death by her parents,Hymer and Vicki Rosen, sister Linda Rosen, brother David Rosen, and beloved pets Yo Yo, Duffledorf, Hunter, and Peche. She is survived by her niece Heather Rosen (David McClellan), nephew Jason Rosen, sister-in-law Cheryl Rosen, and a large group of friends who considered her family.

Jo An impacted the children she taught, many of whom remained in contact. Her dedication, love, and strength shaped the lives of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, at 1:00pm at Temple Emanu-El in Stern Chapel located at 8500 Hillcrest Rd. in Dallas.
