Jenny Lind King

Jenny L. King, left this earthly home on December 27, 2022; she was born January 28, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee to Fred and Beatrice Mathis. Jenny was raised in several cities but called Houston home, she attended and graduated from Lamar H.S. graduating in 1955. She then attended University of Houston.

She married Joe Rich in 1956 and they had three beautiful children together. She worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a service representative for more than 20 years. In her spare time Jenny enjoyed getting to visit with family and friends, planning get togethers, eating and having fun. She really loved having time with her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority sisters. Traveling different places, reading and crafts. Everyone will remember Jenny as a giving and caring person.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey Dale King; mother, Beatrice Ussery Mathis; daughter, Karen Rich Metcalf.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Kathy Amyett; grandchildren, Brandi, will, Jenny, Laura, Violet, Robert, Jason, Josh, Joe, and Elaine; great- grandchildren, Joseph, Nelson, Elijah, Ashlee; great-great granddaughter, Athena; cousins, Kay, Ivy and many others.

A memorial service for Jenny will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
