Jean Marie Jeff

Jean Henderson Jeff was born February 9, 1934 in Franklin, Texas to the parentage of the late John and Bennie Lee Henderson. She was educated in Hearne Public Schools, graduating from Blackshear High School. She went on to attend Prairie View A & M University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree.

She accepted Christ in her life at an early age as a member of St. Emanuel Baptist Church in Hearne, Texas and is currently a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Jean enjoyed a long and diverse career. She worked for Prairie View A & M University, Massachusetts Mutual Insurance, the former Bishop College, and the State Comptroller’s Office retiring in 1988. Jean was married to Adolphus Gene Jeff. “Jean and Gene” were married 60 years. Together they raised three daughters and spent their golden years sharing memories and enjoying each other.

Jean leaves to cherish her memories her husband Adolphus Gene, daughters Donna Jeff Sheffield, Rhonda Jeff Ray and Phyllis Jeff, son in law Michael Ray, grandchildren Taryn, Erica, Marcus, and Tara, sisters Zenobia Jeff of Dallas and Mildred Polk of Corpus Christi, great grandchildren Omarian, DeWayne, Bailee, Triston, and Tania, beloved nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends.
