Jason Lawrence Adkins

JASON LAWRENCE ADKINS was born on November 28, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to Johnny Ray Adkins Sr. and Evelyn Adkins. As the youngest of three sons, he grew up surrounded by the love and guidance of his family. From an early age, Jason developed a strong foundation in faith, being baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church, a commitment that would carry him throughout his life.

His educational journey began at Saint Elizabeth Catholic School and Mark Twain Middle School, where he laid the groundwork for his future achievements. Jason proudly graduated from David W. Carter High School, where he formed lasting friendships and excelled in his studies. He then chose to serve his country, joining the United States Navy, where he honorably served until 1993.

On July 19, 1994, Jason welcomed his only begotten son, Jaalen Jamarr Adkins, with Sharlene Hutchinson. Jaalen was the pride of his life, the star in his crown, and Jason took great joy in being a father. His love for his son was immeasurable, and he devoted himself to being a guiding light for Jaalen's future.

After his Navy service, Jason became affectionately known as "J Smoove," a name that captured his effortless charm and cool demeanor, which he lived up to throughout his life. As an accomplished entrepreneur, Jason owned several businesses and earned a reputation as a sound and respected businessman. He had a sharp mind and a passion for debates, always ready to engage in meaningful, challenging conversations. His love for sports was well-known, and he was an avid supporter of his favorite teams, enjoying many games with friends and family.

Another one of Jason's greatest sources of pride and joy was his two granddaughters, Rhylee Rose and Alivia Raeyn Adkins. He spoke often of how proud he was of them, cherishing every moment he had with them, and they will forever carry forward his love and legacy.

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Eula Adkins; maternal grandparents, J.L. and Ellene Hall.

Jason’s cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of his beloved son, Jaalen Jamarr Adkins, and his granddaughters, Rhylee Rose and Alivia Raeyn Adkins. He is also survived by his loving parents, Johnny Ray Adkins Sr. and Evelyn Adkins; his brothers, Johnny Ray Adkins Jr. (Dawnette Adkins) and Kevin Adkins; and his nieces, Spetial Adkins, Schuyla and Ashley Ogilvie, and Kaiya and Kaelin Adkins. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Jason's legacy is one of love, strength, and wisdom, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
