Janice was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Born in 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland, Janice excelled in school. At Milford Mill High School, she met Philip Sindler, to whom she was married for 26 wonderful years, until his death in 1999.
After attending the University of Maryland, Janice taught elementary school for several years. In 1974, Janice and Philip moved to San Diego, where their beloved daughter Kelly was born. In 1992, Janice and Philip started Wellness International Network with The Oats Family. That company ultimately brought them to Texas, where Janice became a strong business woman and integral part of the Dallas community and spent the remainder of her life.
Family and friends loved Janice for her loyalty, thoughtfulness, and quick-wittedness. While quiet in nature, Janice never shied away from sharing her astute and often humorous observations with those close to her. She spent many years selflessly caring for her mother Bessie, setting the model example of a mother/daughter bond that she and Kelly would enjoy as well – including in these most recent years as Kelly tended to her care.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Kelly Sindler (Mike Inman), her brother Gerald Katz (Marlene), her first cousin Barbara Steinhardt (Michael), and many other loving relatives and friends. Janice was pre-deceased by her husband Philip Sindler, her mother and stepfather Bessie and Sidney Levenson and her father Albert Katz.
A funeral service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home (7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas TX 75225) this Wednesday, March 26th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janice’s memory may be sent to her Team page for the Walk To End Alzheimer’s which will be done in her memory:
