Jane Lee Watson

Jane L. Watson, age 101, passed away on May 1, 2023, in Garland, TX. She was born on January 19, 1922, in Dallas, TX to Ward & Claudia Ehney. Jane was raised in Dallas and graduated from Crozier Tech in 1940.

She marries Roy L. Watson in 1941 and the couple had 4 children. She was a homemaker, and also worked as an office manager at Watson Equipment Co.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading, antiquing, watching the Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, Nascar Racing, Dancing (honky-tonking), and volunteering.

Jane will always be remembered as a person with a positive attitude, sweet and generous, who was always happy and loved her family and friends fiercely!

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Watson; her sons, Ted and Larry “Tim” Watson; her granddaughter, Lee Ann Pilkington; and her step-grandson, Joshua Russell.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Watson-Russell and Linda Watson; her sons-in-law, Tim Russell and Carlos Dowell; her daughter-in-law, Susan Watson; her grandchildren, Alison Tweedy, Brent Watson and spouse William, Heather Watson and spouse Rick, Eric Watson and spouse Sarah, Lance Watson and spouse Lauren, Kyle Watson, and Misty Shields and spouse Michael; and her great-grandchildren, Sarah Pilkington, Leah Pilkington, Joel Watson, Aylah Watson, Cade Watson, Kerrington Watson, Madeline Shields, Braydon Shields, Theodore Watson, and Paige Russell.

Jane was a “Powder Puff” race car driver in ‘40s at Crandall Motor Speedway; a Gray Lady during WWII; a costume designer and seamstress for numerous dance companies and studios; and member of Eastern Star, Crozier Tech Alumni, and Chancey Book Club.
