

Pastor James Hardie Luckey, a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend aged 83, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Naples, Texas. James was born to Onie and Hardie D. Luckey on November 14, 1941. He lived a life defined by courage, strength, and perseverance. James’ unwavering positivity and resilience were an inspiration to everyone he met.
James finished his high school education at Paul Pewitt in Naples, Texas. On August 23, 1963, he married the love of his life, Margaret Jean Jackson, beginning a beautiful union built on faith, love, and devotion that lasted a lifetime. James was employed at United States Gypsum for 28 years. After retiring in 2003, he answered a higher calling and entered full-time ministry, dedicating himself to serving others, spreading hope, and touching countless lives with his compassion, faith, and commitment to making a difference.
James never wavered in his love for God, his family or his steadfastness to living life fully. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, Pastor James leaves behind his faithful wife, Pastor Margaret Jean Luckey. Their four children, Valencia Fagan (Otis), Malinda Lewis, Broderick Luckey, Alicia Brown. He also leaves his 10 cherished grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren who brought him much joy. Pastor James was preceded in death by his parents Onie and Hardie D. Luckey; his sisters Mardedla Luckey, Norma Nicholson, Ana Lou Foster, and Lola Sampson; and his brothers Lonnie and Lessie B. Luckey.
