Deacon James Jefferson Sr was born January 23, 1930 in Belcher , Louisiana. One of 5 children born to Willie Jefferson and Ruby Pearl Fritz. During his school years, James excelled at basketball playing the Center position. James relocated to Dallas, Texas and began his 32-year career with RSR Corporation, retiring in management.
He was united in holy wedlock to Patsy Ruth Evans . To this union they brought 4 children and the Lord further blessed them with 4 more children. One son preceded him in death.
He leaves to God’s sovereign care, a loving wife, Patsy; 3 sons : James Jr., John Jefferson (Dewanda); Stan Jefferson; 4 daughters: Diane; Debra; Belinda (Kai); and Ruby (Mark); 2 sisters: Helen Newson (Don); Bobbie Evans (Herbert); 1 brother: Arthur Jefferson (Jimmie); eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends.
