88, Edwin was born May 28, 1928 in Dallas, TX, and passed away June 10, 2016 in Ennis, TX.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, where he was very successful in running track. He went to work at age 19 for Katy Railroad. He later moved to Northern Pacific Railroad, before becoming a commodities salesman for Burlington Northern Railroad, where he retired at age 55. Edwin loved gardening, working with his hands, music, and will always be remembered as a faithful, Christian man and Bible scholar.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Parks; and son, Ronald Parks.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Parks and husband William F. Parks; grandsons, James Scott, Steven, Justin, Jake, Jon, and Josh; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 14 at 2:00pm at Grove Hill Memorial Park, and will be preceded by Visitation from 1 – 2pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home.
