Jaime Edward Aguilar
Jaime Aguilar was born in Dallas on the 21st of June 1963. He died on the 2nd of December 2013. His parents, Raul Aguilar, Eugenia Caballero Aguilar, and his brother Raul Philip, survive Jaime. Jaime’s sister Cassandra died in 2002. Jaime is also survived by a loving, extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins.
He graduated from El Centro College in Culinary Arts and embarked on a career as a professional chef. He became the youngest Banquet Chef for a major hotel in the DFW area, the Loews Anatole. Jaime became the youngest Executive Chef in another hotel. He was a member of the Texas Chef ‘s Association. He was chef at many hotels and country clubs, including the Fort Worth Country Club, and Tesoro Doral Country Club. His last position was at Copeland’s in the Hilton at South Lake.
Trammel Crow personally invited Jaime to serve as Chef on a private yacht cruise in Alaska. Among the guests were former President Gerald Ford and First Lady Betty Ford. Throughout his career Jaime was privileged to prepare meals for every former President, celebrities and many sports figures.
He assumed roles in life, whether it be Chef, friend, boss, brother, son, teacher, or leader. He was a leader not just in his career, but also in life. For example, he took command when a person became stricken with a seizure. Jaime stabilized the individual and cared for him, until the EMT arrived. The role he relished most was “Chef.”
Jaime was known as a likeable, compassionate, person who had a passion for his job, for family and for friends. He was very approachable, unassuming and had inherent sympathy for his fellow man. Jaime was a tough but fair boss, loved by his employees and co-workers, who often followed him to his new positions throughout his career!
We will miss his humble spirit, delicious food, sharp humor, and most of all his loving spirit.
