Jack Ritzman passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Dallas, TX. His sons, Mike and Kirk Ritzman, were at his side. He was 82 years old. Jack was born on March 23, 1930 in Lockridge, IA. He grew up in rural Southeast Iowa where he went to school and worked. He married Patricia Moore in Burlington, IA on January 17, 1952. Soon after they were married, the Ritzmans moved to Northern Illinois where they raised their two sons, Mike and Kirk. His sons went to St. James Catholic School in Belvidere and both graduated from Belvidere High School.Jack worked at National Lock in Rockford, IL for 20 years. During that time, he also served as a Master Sergeant in the National Guard.Both sons moved to Dallas, TX after college. Jack and Pat moved to Texas to be with their sons and their families in 1994 where they both lived until their passing. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jackson and Mary Ritzman, his sister Mary Jo, his brother Donald and his wife Patricia who passed away last November. Surviving family members include his sons Mike (Lee Ann) and Kirk (Sue) and his four grandchildren; Amanda, Bridget, Zachary and Alexandria, all living in Dallas, TX. Jack was a loving Papa to his four grandchildren. He will be remembered fondly for always offering to help with their care as well as being there for all their births to all their birthdays and to all their big events.Jack will be interred next to his wife at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX on Saturday, February 9, 2013. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Dementia/Alzheimer’s charity of your choosing in his name
