Irene D. Miller

At sixteen she left home to pursue a bachelor's degree in education at Northwestern Oklahoma State College in Alva. Upon completing her degree and obtaining her teaching credential, she taught school in Oklahoma and Iowa, then in Lebanon, Oregon and Lodi, California. She taught at a Catholic school in San Diego before accepting a teaching position at the public elementary school in Greenfield, California, where she met fellow teacher Douglas J. Miller. They were married in 1956, and Mrs. Miller retired from teaching to raise a family.

After a year in Palo Alto, the couple moved to Watsonville, California, where they raised four children and lived for 42 years. Mrs. Miller was a regular parishioner and choir member at the Catholic church in Watsonville. In 1999, she and her husband moved to Dallas, TX. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband and their children: Madeline Crist of Falls Church, VA; John Miller of Kent, WA: Rose Roeder of Wayne, PA; and Mark Miller of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Hans, Teresa, and Kateri Crist; Brenda Miller; and Miriam and Regina Roeder. Her survivng siblings are Dean Hall of Enid, OK; Roger Hall of Kingfisher, OK; and Marjorie McKinney of Lewis, KS.

A Memorial Mass will be said at St. Rita's Catholic Community, 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75244 on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 A.M.
