Mrs. Helen Lee (Wright) Hearon

Hearon, HelenLee. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Mimi) joined her Lord and Savior on July 23, 2019. Born to Clifford Lee Wright and Helen Mae Wright on November 9, 1929 in Brownville, Texas. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday this fall. After graduating from Sunset High School in Dallas, Class of 1946, HelenLee proudly became a Southern Methodist University graduate in 1950. She was able to attend due to the generosity of the Dealy Family, her father’s employer with the Dallas Morning News. She was always grateful and voiced appreciation for the generosity of Mr. Dealy.

She met the love of her life, Marion Heard Hearon, and they married in 1951 at Calvary Baptist Church in Dallas. She spent the next years raising two sons Mark Lee and Kyle James while staying active in numerous school organizations. With her sons entering adulthood, she became a phenomenal real estate agent serving clients all over the Texas for the next 15 years. Her happiest memories of her family included annual family vacations at South Padre Island. She loved being a grandmother, living near her grandchildren and visiting as often as possible.

HelenLee’s faith was evident in her devotion to serving her entire life. She taught Sunday school consistently for decades at Calvary Baptist and First Baptist Dallas. She loved going on mission trips helping spread the gospel in other countries. In her later years after retirement, she found great joy teaching and witnessing to prison inmates at the Collin County Jail.

Her Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2012 clearly illustrated Heard’s devotion and tender care for his precious wife. He remained her only care giver at their home until her fall in 2018. Although her memory declined, she always recognized Heard when he faithfully visited her daily. It was quite evident with her shining eyes when she spotted him coming to see her. His example of selfless care is an incredible testimony of his love for her during their 68 years of marriage.

HelenLee is preceded in death by her parents Clifford Lee and Helen Mae Wright. She is survived by her devoted and faithful husband, Heard, two sons Mark (Andrea) and Kyle (Kim) and eight grandchildren Mark Jr (Kate) Hearon, Kyndall Hearon, James (Katy) Hearon, Sarabeth Hearon, David Hearon and Mary Grace Hearon. A celebration of her life will be at Laureland Funeral Home Friday July 26th at 12:00. Reception to follow.
