Gwen "Reb" Cox Grattan

Gwen “Reb” Grattan was born July 6, 1924 in Houston, TX to Grace and Raymond Cox. Gwen passed away peacefully on January 28, 2012 in Garland, TX. She worked in Houston with Hughes Tools, and was a volunteer with the USO where she met her husband Jack. Gwen and Jack would later marry on August 12, 1944. They moved to Dallas where they opened Jack Grattan Co. on September 1, 1958. On September 1, 2011 Jack Grattan Co. celebrated 53 years in business. Gwen and Jack were long time members of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas. Gwen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Grattan; and a sister, Willis Rae Cox. She is survived by daughters, Michelle Rae Kelly, Maureen Rogers; son, Pat Grattan; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Michael Smith, Sean Murphy, Molly Murphy, and 5 other grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM, with Vigil service at 7:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2012 at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Mausoleum, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. Arrangements under the direction of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
