Guadalupe T. Flores

He was raised in Alice, Texas and graduated from Alice High School in 1958. Mr. Flores proudly served in the Texas Army National Guard. He married Maria Elva Rosales in 1961 and the couple had three children.

He retired from Aviall Corporation (Boeing), where he worked for more than fifteen years. He was an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic while specializing in turbine engines. He worked on both commercial and private airplanes, including former President, Donald Trump's plane. He retired in 2003 to devote his time to his wife and grandchildren.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with watching and attending sporting events. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and went to numerous games at the Cotton Bowl, Texas Stadium, and AT&T Stadium. He also enjoyed attending Texas Rangers baseball games or watching and attending boxing and WWE Wrestling events. He attended championship fights, including Oscar Dela Hoya, Evander Holyfield and Canelo Alvarez. He coached a T-Ball team in the 70's. He was also a volunteer at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in the 1970's and was well known for calling the Bingo games in a very humorous way. In his younger days, he also enjoyed Conjunto music and playing the accordion. He learned to play the accordion from his brother, and Tejano Music Hall of Fame inductee, Amadeo Flores. One of his favorite pastimes included watching western movies and listened to Christmas music year-round.

His family will always remember him for being a great human being, husband, father and grandfather. He was a humble, kind, compassionate and generous person. He was devoted and loyal to his wife, who suffered from Parkinson's Disease for over thirty-five years. His devotion to his grandchildren included taking them to and from school every day. He looked forward to and enjoyed this a great deal.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elva; siblings, Alonzo (Agueda), Fidela Godines (Jesus), Amadeo Flores (Angelita), Rudy Flores, Baldomero Flores, Juan Flores (Virginia) and Luis Flores, Sr. (Rosa); sister-in-law, Dora Vasquez.

He is survived by his children, Guadalupe Jr., Velma Rios (Rene) and Omar Flores; sister-in-law, Manuela Flores; his grandchildren, John, Valerie and Rene Jr.; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hyden, Andrew Hyden, Lauren Macias. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Guadalupe Vasquez along with his cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
