Frank was born and raised in Corpus Christi Texas by his parents, Andres Maceda and Emilia Avalos Maceda. He attended Ray Miller High School and graduated in 1950. He immediately volunteered for the Air Force, had a distinguished career, and was discharged at the rank of Staff Sargent.
Frank met the love of his life, Marcella Maceda, at a wedding they both attended.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker and excellent provider. The smile on his face and the energy he brought into the room affected everyone he met. You could count on Frank to bring joy and laughter to those around him.
Frank was a true Cowboys fan, and he recalled to his sons the days when he went to see the Cowboys play in the Cotton Bowl. Some of the most enjoyable moments of life was watching the Cowboys together with his family. He displayed two ten-foot inflatable Cowboy players in front of his home up to the last season of his life.
He attended Mass on a daily basis his entire adult life. One of the greatest traditions he created for his family was to have nightly family prayer. He always said "A family that prays together stays together". He was very active at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He was a member and president of the Holy Name Society, a Sunday school teacher for 30+ years, and a Bible studies leader.
