After graduating, Dora traveled and explored life across the United States until she made Dallas, TX home. She built a beautiful life with her husband of 46 years, two children and one grandson. This tight knit family was extended by the insurmountable love and hospitality they shared with relatives, church family and friends alike.
Lady Johnson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized in the Holy Spirit in her early 20s upon her move to Dallas TX in the 1960s. Lady Johnson, often referred to as, Sister Johnson was a prayer warrior, spiritual mother, motivator, encourager, nurturer and “real deal” soul winner for the Lord. She devoted her life and will to prayer and fasting unto God in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. She became the first lady of Ministry of Deliverance Church (Desoto, TX) in 2001 as she followed her loving husband in ministry. She has been a faithful pioneer of the holiness church for more than 53 years. She was known for telling anyone who listened to fall in love with Jesus and make Jesus your best friend, as well as, “When it comes to living saved, you have to be real!” She encouraged many souls to build a relationship with the Lord and to know that God answers prayers.
Lady Johnson ascended to her eternal rest on May 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Oliva May; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lee Arthur May (Alberta) and Elzra Lee May; one sister and brother-in-law, Nevada Robinson (Clyde).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Pastor Dicky Johnson; two devoted children, Thaddeus Johnson (Kellian) and Dekedra Kasera (Fredrick); one dear grandson, Thaddeus Johnson, Jr. (Jennifer); one beautiful great granddaughter, Ocean Johnson; her niece in love – that she daughtered, Yolanda Johnson; one precious sister, Artie Bell May of Gulfport, MS; two dedicated brothers, Claude May (Juagbwe) of Sacramento, CA and Willie Joe May (Brenda) of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of more beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, church family and friends.
