He professed his faith in Christ at New Mountain Baptist Church in Ore City, Texas. He was a member of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He worked various jobs before retiring as a crane operator but his most cherished role was the patriarch of his family. He had a radiant personality, contagious laugh, and never met a stranger. He exuded love and acceptance and in return, his house became a second home for many.
Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Fannie Jo, mother Tressie B., and brother Harry James.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters Evan Jean Lewis (Lonnie), Eva Lois Miller (L.J.), Jo Ann Fuller (Roderick), and son Bobby (Lorrie); five grandchildren Zenobia Tasby, Elaina Lewis, Eron Lewis (Karen), and Hope and Faith Jordan; one great-grandson, Jackson Armour; beloved brother-in-law, Billy Betts (Barbara), and sister-in-law Florida Turner (Floy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Evan will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A homegoing celebratory service will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 444 W. Ledbetter Drive, Dallas, TX 75224.
