Eric Anthony Cortez

Eric A. Cortez, age 37, passed away on Thursday March 31, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 23, 1984 in Austin, Texas to Demetrio and Jeanne Cortez. Eric was raised in Joshua, Texas and he graduated from Cleburne High and attended Texas Tech University.

He enjoyed being around people in the restaurant industry with his last position being a General Manager for Lucky's Hot Chicken.

In his spare time Eric and his best friend Brian Jones would go to the SPCA and play with the animals. He went to concerts all the time, even no name bands. Eric loved music and concerts. His roommate Jeff Krebs remembers Eric enjoying horror movies, in particularly, Friday 13th, Halloween with Michael Myers, Marvel movies, concerts and brunch.

Family and friends will always remember him as the life of the party, never a dull moment.

He was a free spirit, a brother, and a great friend. A wonderful son, he had a big heart and was always ready to help. Eric has great Friends and Family in the LGBTQ Community.

Eric is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother (Alice) Elisa Cortez. He is survived by PARENTS: Demetrio Cortez and Jeanne Teasley, SIBLINGS, Roxanne Cortez & John M. Cortez; NIECES & NEPHEWS: Dominique Grogan, Ariel Rodriguez, Eva Cortez, McKenna Cortez, Joziah Enriquez, Tara Enriquez, Rory Cortez and Vivian Cortez; GRAND NEPHEW'S: Daniel Grogan and Aurelio Rodriguez.
