Elsie Marie Overgaard Dott passed away April 19th, 2010 in Dallas, Texas at the age 78. Born October 9, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Esther Overgaard, she graduated from Baylor University with a B.S.R.N. She led a full life as a mother of four and a nurse, while fulfilling her dream to obtain her pilots license. Elsie became an admired teacher in the Lutheran Church – first by studying and then by fulfilling the requirements to become a teacher of the Bethel Series. She loved and was loved by many friends and family. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Overgaard, Jr., she is survived by her children: Stephen Dott and wife, Marilyn, Dr. Gregory Dott, Dr. Kenneth Dott and wife, Dr. Kimberly Dott, and Dr. Laura Rice; Daughter-in-law, Dr. Cynthia Dott; Grandchildren: Alexander Drake, Tim and Erica Dott, Nikki Rice, and Harrison, Kenny, Mel, and Kimberly Dott; and sister-in-law, Priscilla Overgaard. The family will receive visitors Friday, April 23rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3001 Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX, with committal to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Stephen Dott, Gregory Dott, Kenneth Dott, Alexander Drake, Tim Dott, and Harrison Dott will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be made at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com.
