After sixty-seven years of sharing her life with us on this side of glory, Edna Mae Collier fell asleep into the peaceful arms of our Heavenly Father, Friday, August 12, 2016. Our beloved and loving Edna Mae Collier, was born to the parentage of the late Arthur Lee Johnson and Fern Ester Johnson. She was born and raised in Tollette, Arkansas, and later relocated to Nashville. Edna was the eldest of eleven children. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member for many years. She was an employee of Poulan Weedeater/Husqvana Outdoor Products for over 30 years, where she retired in 2013. Known to her family and friends as “Knot” she was a loving mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend. This meek and mild woman raised three children and touched the lives of many with her many signature dishes, her infectious laughter or just her simple smile. The true measure of one’s life is the esteem in which their family holds them, those who know them best. With her unconditional love, zest for life and her integrity, Edna will continue to be in the hearts of her family and serve as an inspiration and role model to us all. Edna is preceded in death by parents, Arthur Lee Johnson and Fern Ester Johnson; a set of twins at birth; one sister, Fern Dean Brown; and one brother, Jimmy Dean Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Deborah Kay Collier, Brenda Louise Collier and Shunell Rae Collier; four grandchildren, Brandon Dwane Collier, Jasmine Janeé Godbolt, Jarrod DeShawn Godbolt and Raelee Marcella Collier; three great-grandchildren, Andrin Rena Collier, Alora Grace Collier and Tony Lashae Mitchell III, all of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Willie Junior (Betty) Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, Louis Edward Johnson of Nashville, Arkansas and Chester Ray (Verna) Johnson of Hope, Arkansas; three sisters, Almeater (Micheal) Johnson of Tollette, Arkansas, Willie Mae Nunally of Nashville, Arkansas, and Jacqueline (Eddie) Whitmore of Nashville, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
