Dorothy Louise Williams

grandmother and great grandmother departed this life at the age of 94

years and entered into a place of peace and rest to be with the Lord.

Dorothy Louise Williams was born on June 4, 1930 as a native of Terrell,

Texas to the parents of Lewis Ellis and Addie Lee (Brown).

She attended the public schools of Terrell, TX. She also completed her education.

In her later years as an adult, she relocated to the Dallas, Texas area

where she resided until her eternal day of rest.

She was a very dedicated employee for the University of Southwestern

Medical Center at Dallas since 1975 until she retired January 2000. She was

a very faithful and dedicated staff for the West Dallas Maternal and Family

Planning Center, as well as with the Maternal Health and Family Planning

Center of the Southwest area of Dallas.

Spiritual Journey: She was a very faithful member at Bethlehem Word

Church of Dallas, Texas, despite her health condition which caused her to

later become unable to attend, BUT GOD, had His hand upon her and KEPT

her on this earthly realm side of life for all to see and know that He will

never leave you nor forsake you… Dorothy was an exemplar for a great

woman of FAITH and a mighty vessel that reflects God’s Amazing GRACE.

She enjoyed having family gatherings, cooking and enjoying life together

with family and friends. She will always be the best cook ever to make

“perfect golden crust fried catfish steaks”, “unique sweet potato pies”,

“collard greens” and unexplainable delicious “candied yams” during every

holiday!

Preceding her in death are: Parents Lewis and Addie Ellis, four brothers,

four sisters, spouse, Mandell Williams, grandson, Abureatha, granddaughter,

Jayna and great-granddaughter, Amariel.

Survivors: She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Jacqueline

(Charles) Vallier of Cedar Hill, TX, Sharron Sheridan of Ft. Worth, TX, sons,

Larry (Paula) Williams of DeSoto TX, Bernard Stephens of California, supportive

nephew, Gregory Lumpkin, God-son, Benjamin (Syrinithnia) Mann,

10 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, a

host of family relatives, friends, church members and associates.

She leaves a legacy of love and she exemplified a life of faith, hope, trust,

grace and mercy.
