Dorothy Gohman, 93, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Tuesday, January 13th. She was born November 9, 1921 to Alvina and Albert Hildebrand in Nashville, Illinois and spent her early years there. After graduating high school and business college, she moved to St. Louis where she met her husband, Richard. They were married 61 years until his death in 2004. She is survived by her four daughters, Kathryn Gohman, Beverly Golibart and husband Mark, Shirley Wyman and husband Larry, and Barbara Marzec, her grandchildren, Christine Coppedge and husband Chase, Elizabeth See and husband Rashad, Lyndsey Marzec and Alexander Gohman and five great-grandchildren, Emma, Faith, JC, Gabriella, and Lillian. Dorothy was an avid golfer, bowler, and a marvelous cook. She also enjoyed bridge and shopping. At a time when stay at home moms were the norm rather than the exception, Dorothy excelled. Dorothy spent her last thirteen years as a resident of the Acadia Assisted Living Center where she was cared for lovingly by her aides Jane Muhia, Teresiah Kimani, Rachel Muturi, and Milkah Ngethe. Dorothy was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. A private interment and memorial will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Visiting Nursing Association or a charity of your choice.
