Dorothy Maxine Austin

Dorothy was born July 16, 1933, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Thelma and Luther Thomas Bradley. A devoted daughter, she grew up caring for her younger siblings.

She was a loving wife to Charles, whom she met while he was serving in the army and stationed in South Carolina. They were married in 1955 and after a few detours, made their home in Dallas, Texas. Charles and Dorothy were members of Orchard Hills Baptist Church.

Always a caring and nurturing individual, the joy of her life was being a mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and modeled for them strength, kindness, compassion and faith. As a breast cancer survivor, she never took life for granted and would share with family and friends how to overcome life's challenges. "Just trust in the Lord, he will take care of you".

Dorothy loved reading, puzzles, sewing, caring for her plants and spending time with her grandbabies.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Seward, Jan Austin, Lisa Allen and husband Ronnie, Ann Seutter and husband Gus; grandchildren, Jimmy and wife Tiffany, Crystal and husband Dewayne, Jennifer, Matthew, Hannah and husband Jake, Chloe and husband Tim, and Lydia; great-grandchildren, Alicia and husband Gabriel, Jessie, Jayce, Jenna, Nathan, Caleb, Karley, Hailey, Leona, Lillian, Louisa, Asher and soon to arrive, baby Anstead; great-great-grandchildren, Rylee, Kash, Amora, Zalena and her brother, David Bradley.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles; parents, Luther and Thelma Bradley; brothers, JT Bradley, Thomas Bradley, James Bradley, Douglas Bradley; sister, Joyce Johnson and great-grandson, Anthony Diaz.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218. A graveside service will occur Monday, July 29, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
