Dennis Lavon Maddox, 91, passed away April 5, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. He was born October 28, 1926 in Greenville, Texas to John and Eva Mae Maddox. Dennis graduated from Garland High School and was drafted the next day for WWII and left for Germany after basic training where he spent over two years. He worked for International Harvester for over 34 years and was a diehard Texas Longhorns fan. Dennis is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gwendolyn Lorraine Carter Maddox; daughter, Carolyn Denise Maddox; he was the last of six brothers, Garland, Elton, Paul, Varner and Troy Maddox and parents. He is survived by his two sons, Randy Maddox and wife, Cindy of Brenham, Texas and Gary Maddox and wife, Kim of Quinlan, Texas; two granddaughters, Christy Hammar and husband Martin of Orlando, Florida and Rachel Maddox of Quinlan, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Hanna and Holly Hammar and two sisters, Mary Looney and Ann Perry of Garland, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Services will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 2:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
