Denise was the second of four children born to Frank Jasper Salvato Sr. and Sarah Ann Roppolo. She grew up in Dallas, TX and attended Bishop Lynch High School, class of 1970. After graduation, she took a customer service position at Southwestern Bell where she met her husband, Virgil Crouch. They were married on July 21, 1979 and raised three daughters in their home in Dallas, TX.
Ask anyone who’s met Denise and a smile will warm their face as they recall how she touched their life. She was an extremely passionate and devoted co-worker, always teaching and always helping. To her friends and family, Denise seemed to always place herself second. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for someone in need. She enjoyed surrounding herself with the ones she loved and giving to them unconditionally. Her kindheartedness ensured strangers always felt welcome, friends always felt involved, and family always felt loved.
Denise’s “larger than life” personality, her strong willed determination, and her selfless compassion for others is only exceeded by the love she had for her family. She guided her three daughters into their adult lives, providing endless support and that sage advice only a mother can give. She loved her husband, Virgil, with all her heart. Throughout their 33 years of marriage, they made many memories, shared many laughs and bestowed countless blessings upon their three daughters. Their combined efforts were rewarded in the women they became: a devoted mother of two handsome boys, a veterinary student following her lifelong dream, and a nursing student seeking a lifetime of service to others. Denise was also an adoring daughter, a loving sister, “the fun aunt”, a doting grandmother to two grandsons who could do no wrong, but above all she was an enthusiastic and compassionate servant of God.
Losing Denise is a tremendous shock to all who knew her, but that loss is softened each time we recall her smile, we remember her contagious laugh, and we are reminded how this beautiful soul touched our lives for the better.
