14,1953 in Dallas, Tx. She attended the public schools of Dallas County and was a graduate of James
Madison High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She later joined Greater Mount Pleasant where she was a nurse's guild, aided in several auxiliaries and became the First Lady Armor Bearer for several years. She loved being a Servant for the Lord and helping others.
Debra was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she was the Treasury for the church.
Debra joined DART in 1984 where she was a Sectary and retired August 1, 2019 as an Executive Assistant II for Marketing and Communication. While at DART she was a member of COMTO (Conference of Minority Transportation Officials), Women in Leadership, EAC Committee and Black History. Debra received several awards at DART for her Outstanding Performance under the Leadership of Sue Bowman. She loved and enjoyed her DART friends and taking part in all of DARTS functions. She loved her African American Culture, Traveling, Shopping and Family. Softball was her favorite sport.
Cush Mattan was her small business where she had the pleasure of selling individuals with unique Black sculptures, greeting cards, plaques etc. Debra was a founder of Sister, Sister with a group of women, where they gave back to the community by giving to Senior Living Centers. Donating prom dresses at Martin Luther King Center, Back to School Drives and giving monetary donations.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the loves of her children: Torsha and James Haynes (son-in-law), Cedric Bell, and Steven Bell. Two sisters: Patricia Minafee and Linda Bonner (Lee) and one brother: Henery Wayne Vann. Grandchildren; Shanquita, Tiesha, Hershel, Raven, Taylor, Cedric Jr., Blake, Stenyia, Laferrean, and Steven Jr.; Great grandchildren: Noah, Riley, Nevaeh, London, and Demarcus Jr. Host of nieces and nephews' other relatives' sisters and brothers in Christ.
