David was a wonderful, kind and loving husband, brother, uncle, and cousin, who was devoted to family. He will be terribly missed by those who survive him: his wife, Donna (Wylie-Perez); brother Tom and sister-in-law Sondra; brother Robert; sister Anne McLaughlin and brother-in-law Bill; niece Victoria (Tori); and nephew Andrew (Dino), as well as many other family members and friends. He is preceded in by his father Sam, mother Esther (Cuellar), and sister Helen.
While still in high school, David worked at his family's restaurant, El Chico. After graduation, he then went to work at Velmer Heating and Air Conditioning before moving on to Womack Machine Supply, where he proudly received his certification as a Fluid Power Specialist. He retired in 2021 with 40 years of dedicated service in various positions at Womack Machine Supply.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports shooting and watching football and horse racing.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. A "Celebration of Life" coffee and cookie reception will follow, in the Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home lounge.
